Jango Mango is the official mango ambassador for the National Mango Board. He has made it his life’s mission to make sure every family in the United States experiences the great taste of mangos.

Jango’s newest venture is the Jango Geography game, which teaches kids about mangos and the countries from which they originate. The game takes children on a journey through the Amazon, across oceans and up lush mountains as each activity imparts a bit of mango-inspired culture. Click here to play.

Jango_Dean

Jango hosted the National Mango Board’s first ever kid’s cooking contest, Rising Mango Star.  Three finalists got to travel to New York City to compete for first place, with Dean Sturt of Rowlett, TX being victorious.

Jango_NYCJango loves to travel and everywhere he goes, he shares his passion for mangos. While in New York for the Rising Mango Star contest, Jango found time to do some sightseeing and add to his travel album- check out his photo album here.

Jango_Marathon

Jango Mango made his premiere at the 2007 Marine Corps Marathon where he competed in a mascot race while the National Mango Board sampled fresh mangos with marathon-goers and runners. He had such a good time he decided to go back for the 2008 marathon as well!

Jango_Capitol

Jango was so excited about visiting Washington, D.C.  It was his first trip to our nation’s capitol, and he insisted on making time to visit several historic monuments during the trip.  It was a beautiful fall day and he got some great photos.  Check out the album here.

 Jango_Soccer

Jango loves being fit and healthy! He also loves all kinds of sports, so he visited the US Youth Soccer Regional Tournaments in Raleigh, NC and Portland, ME this year to cheer on some of the best youth soccer players in the country. See how the event went here.

Since mangos are a tropical fruit, Jango couldn’t go on a tour of the U.S. without visiting the beach! Jango traveled to Miami where he got as much fun in the sun as he could get! Jango_Cut_Out

Jango loves keeping up with his fans and friends, and his favorite way to do that is through social networking. Become his friend on MySpace or become a fan on Facebook.  He’s even got a group you can join on Facebook called “Mango.org Recipes and Events” so you can always have the latest news on your favorite mango ambassador.
