Mangos are poised to become the produce success story of our time. Consumption per capita of fresh mangos doubled from 1995 to 2004, and imports of fresh mangos jumped 23% in 2006 over the previous year according the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Many factors, including the growing Hispanic population and an increase in the popularity of more exotic and ethnic foods are lining up to create the perfect environment for mangos to grow even more in the coming years.
