2011 Consumer Outreach Deemed a Success

The mango message was spread to more than 840 million consumers in 2011, exceeding the goal of 646 million. It would have cost more than $28 million to obtain equivalent coverage if we had paid for advertising.  The NMB Consumer Program enjoyed strong return in the Nutrition Outreach program featuring Media Dieticians, spreading the word about mango nutrition messages, as well as one-on-one consumer experiences with Mango Hometown Tour and the cutting station at BlogHer Food for food bloggers. Please see the 2011 Consumer Results Report for more information.

2011 Coverage Spotlight

Another strong program this year was the NMB’s outreach to national media. National media, and their readers, are fast becoming mango fans. As relationships deepen with key journalists and publications, so does the content and information they share about mangos. In this Good Housekeeping mention from the August 2011 issue, they highlight tips for selecting a mango as well as the fruit’s high vitamin C content.
